Today is the New Moon in the air sign Aquarius and like all air signs, Aquarius is full of ideas and thoughts. As the water bearer people often think Aquarius is a water sign. The water bearer as an archetype is pouring the living waters upon the earth. Capricorn season, which is just prior to Aquarius, can be a dutiful and hardworking time. With Mars, Venus, Vesta, Juno, Pluto and Mercury still all
in Capricorn, we need this New Moon Aquarius energy to awaken something fresh. Yet the Moon and Sun are with Saturn for this start of the Lunar New Year of the water Tiger which begins tomorrow, the day after the new moon in Aquarius.
Serious Saturn is cautious, taking things slow and wanting results. Mercury is retrograde until Saturday, then out of the shadow on the 23rd when more momentum is gained. It is a reflective time and the practicalities of relationships in the forefront. With the north node now in Taurus, we will suffer unless we slow down enough to honor the needs of the body. South node in Scorpio can increase drama and deep feelings of betrayal from
the past. Getting present in the now means being fully embodied and connected to the earth herself with our bodies in a healthy relaxed sustainable way.
Here is a water tiger song I have long loved by Michael Franks. May we find our power and love in 2022. We certainly need both!
