Full Moon at 3 degrees Capricorn arrives today just as Mercury has gone direct and the Sun has entered Cancer on the Solstice. Pluto has been plowing through the sign of Capricorn since 2008 and is now at 26 degrees completing its journey in
2023. I have been reading Astrologer Steven Forrest's "The Book of Water" where he refers to Pluto in Capricorn as a re-examination of our relationship to duty. Pluto asks us to be true to our soul and with too much duty in the way, we can compromise too much and loose vital life force and become too conventional. Yet Capricorn also rules tradition and in the positive sense there is a sense of belonging to a culture and a society through those traditions that can bring stabilization within the
collective. With Sun in Cancer, family matters are in focus emphasizing belonging but not being defined by family.
As I write this, I am in Minnesota with my family of origin. I have been immersed in tradition and belonging as we honored the life of my brother Brad who passed last month with military honors. Grief has been woven with moments of laughter and lots of fun. It is a full life the older we get to embrace it all! I honored my mother's life too as today she would have been 100 years old but passed last spring. Going to her and my father's grave was a deeply
meaningful experience for me. Being with my other 4 living siblings is like being in a time capsule of an era that no longer exists except in our stories and memories. It is precious time that younger I would not have appreciated.
This is a time of profound change and staying true to your Soul is critical to your vital life force. Pausing to evaluate as Mercury moves direct can be very helpful. Writing down your priorities then acting on them with integrity is a great full moon goal! That is what the Capricorn goat is all about. He once lived at the bottom of the sea with his tail attached. This earth creature is yin, a practical animal who came out of the
depths of the sea to climb the mountain with discipline and patience. We call on you steady patient goat, guide our steps!
